Back to Sunny Arizona

Cross country trek back to Arizona was good.  The autumn season was beautiful in the mountains of PA.  Just before we left that terrible white stuff had to make an appearance.  Nothing stuck since the earth was still warm, however, we knew it was time to pack up and leave.  The mornings and evenings were bone chilling cold, a feeling that we never experience in Arizona.  The heartland of the country is where we found the cheapest gasoline.

Tobbacco Plants

Been growing these plants all summer.  Purchased them in June from a tobacco farmer in Kentucky.  They are organic and it will take nine months to a year of drying time after harvest they say for them to be used?!  Don't know, just a fun unusual project to work on, ha.

The Lake is Calling Me Back Again

Lake Erie at it's best.  Took advantage of such a pleasant day and took a drive up here to Port Clinton, Ohio.

Not swimming or boating or anything like that, just some good ole smoked fish.  This time we got some smoked Catfish and Salmon here at the "Fisherman's Warf". Had to get some of this yummy stuff before we head back to the mountains of PA. for the last time of this season. 

Kiddies Parade

 

Pemberville, Ohio free fair kiddies parade beginning of the celebrations.  The fair might be free but oh my the food prices more than make up for it!  Anyways... was a nice evening out. 

 

Here She Is...

1st time Grandma, that I am.  Madelyn Ann Marie is her name. What beauty she is!

Back to Ohio

 

 

 

Passing through this tunnel in south central PA. is always a nerve wrecking time for me.  We have spent the summer going back and forth from Toledo, Ohio area to the south central area of PA.  Lots of family in both places.  The trip one way is 350mi. so we shorten it up by staying one night on the Ohio Turnpike.  Deposit a $20 bill and plug into 30amp service.  Fresh water and dump station is available as well.  Kinda nice after passage through the tunnel, ha!

 Country back roads here in south central PA.  As you can see not much of anything in particular just quiet beauty for the eyes to consume.  

We have been in the area for the past three weeks and I am just getting around to posting. The first pic is of a quiet back road, some strip farming, and an old country church.  Enjoying the area so much!

 

Allegheny River

 

Crossing this river bridge to get into New Kensington, PA.  Had a great visit with Kens' kids!  Now off to the the great Allegheny Mountains, south central PA...love it!

 

Mt. Top Campground

 

  Stayed here a couple nights while visiting Kens' kids near New Kensington, PA.  It was the closest one around but what a long and narrow winding road up that mountain.  Needless to say probably won't be staying there again.

 

 

Off to PA

Off to New Ken, PA. to visit with the kids.  On the road about 5hrs. with lots of stops.  We take our time and enjoy the sights.  So hard to get a good picture at such a high speed.

We Made It!

 

The first part of the reunion begins here in northwest Ohio.  The grass is green, the trees are tall!  Humidity is surreal and so are the aches and pains.  Family has welcomed us to the fullest extent and that's what it's all about!!!

Nice Area Nice Park

 

This is actually the first time we have used our camping membership outside of our home park in Arizona.  We stayed here four days and loved every bit of it.  Plan on taking advantage of it again this fall when we begin our trek back to the southwest.

 

Dinosaur  World

 

Beautiful area of KY. north of Bowling Green. They have dinosaurs, lol!  Just been kicking back, enjoying the area and the park at our leisure.

 

Need some R&R

 

As we enter here beauty surrounds us.  Gonna take some well needed down time as we have been traveling an average of 300mi. a day for five consecutive ones.  Gonna park it for a few days and get some shore power at one of our membership parks, and do whatever we want to.

Here it is quite an experience for me anyways.  Have always been fascinated with large bridges and mountains.

Arkansas

 

Such a beautiful state this is.  Should be called the green state. Lush green foliage everywhere.  Trees even grow in bodies of water.  Two years ago we traveled through this same area and the trees were in water then too.  So interesting!

Just had to get a shot of this at an Oklahoma rest area.  The country dogs and the city dogs have their designated areas, the stump of wood

and the fire hydrant.

 This has been a very common sight as we make our way through the very, very wide state of Oklahoma. 

The view as we approach Oklahoma City, OK.  Always happy to get through these big towns.  Not fun for me anyways!

All Hooked Up

Our cross country journey begins...Winslow AZ.  What an adventure it is going to be.  Exciting yes, anxiety is definitely there. However, life is a challenge and we are going to enjoy the adventure.

Hummingbird Backyard

 

Sitting at the table in the backyard and all at once I was overcome by these little guys.  There must have been at least 30 of them all at once.  I wasn't even wearing red...lol! I have been watering the desert.  That is a hose not a snake for all you mid-westerners, ha!

Starting to get darker now and they are still around. 

Just amazing!  I am only about 5ft. from them and they just don't care.

 Time to refocus now.  Daughters wedding is over.  

Took a rest stop on the way to the Phoenix Int. airport to visit the outlet stores with the kids and came across these beautiful flowers.  Don't know what they are but they sure were pretty with the bright sunshine gleaming on them!
